PR EUROPE: BRUSSELS - EC allays cross-border fears

The European Commission has pledged not to impose regulations on the PR industry which might hinder cross border business. The assurance follows a meeting between Peter Hehir, president of international consultancy association ICO and Margot Frolinger, an official with the EC’s internal market wing Directorate-General XV. The commission’s green paper on commercial communications published in May last year raised fears that new rules could adversely affect PR disciplines.
