Electrical retailer Comet has appointed Harrison Cowley to handle

PR around the integration of its stores into the Norweb chain.

Comet, which bought Norweb’s 81 out of town shops last November, will

shut 54 stores and rebrand 26 existing Norweb shops under the Comet

flag.

All 57 high street Norweb shops, which were not in the sale, will close

by next month.

Harrison Cowley won the account last month after pitching against

Comet’s retained consumer agency, Elizabeth Hindmarch PR. Sandie

Skevington, Comet’s corporate communications manager said Harrison

Cowley had been chosen for its relevant expertise and national network.

She confirmed that Comet would continue to retain EHPR.

Don Whiting, managing director of Harrison Cowley’s London office, said

the agency was aiming to position Comet as the UK’s leading electrical

retailer.
