Royal Mail, a division of the Post Office and the world’s second largest
international bulk mail carrier, has handed US agency Makovsky and
Company its estimated pounds 80,000 fee PR account for North America.
The account, which covers the US and Canada, ends Royal Mail
International’s global review of PR agencies which began earlier this
year. In September it hired consultancies in France, Germany and the
Netherlands (PR Week 27 September).
Makovsky and Co has been briefed to raise brand awareness of Royal
Mail’s North American operation, Royal Mail US, and support its
expansion throughout the continent. In particular, the agency will
target direct mail companies, publishers and financial services firms.
‘We chose them because they are an extremely pro-active agency with a
good understanding of our business,’ said Royal Mail International PR
manager Stephen Davie.
