The National House-Building Federation is searching for a head of
communications to replace Liz Male, who has moved to Fishburn Hedges as
a senior consultant.
Male, who set up NHBC’s press office after joining the organisation four
and a half years ago, has secured her former employer as a client for
NHBC’s new chief executive Imtiaz Sarookhi did not want to lose Male’s
expertise. After she resigned he began negotiations to use Fishburn
Hedges as external consultants.
’He was keen that I should stay on and assist NHBC through what is quite
a difficult time for it,’ said Male.
Sarookhi is at present carrying out a review of the organisation’s
structure and activities.
’A wholesale strategic review is taking place,’ said NHBC assistant to
the chief executive Derek Hamilton-Knight, who is in charge of corporate
and public affairs at the organisation.
’We’re talking to those stakeholders that have an interest in new
NHBC’s new head of communications will lead a team of four. The
department has a budget of about pounds 300,000.
NHBC was established in 1936. It represents organisations interested in
improving house-building standards such as developers, consumer groups
and mortgage lenders.

Fishburn Hedges intends using Male’s experience to increase the number
of its property clients. She will also be involved in broader corporate
and issues management work.
