The MacLaurin Group has been awarded the account for the launch of

Project J, the working title for the entertainment magazine to be

launched by Emap Metro in the summer.

Project J is expected to be the biggest magazine launch ever undertaken

by Emap say industry sources. While details of the title remain under

wraps, it is expected to target the youth market and feature film, TV,

games, clubs and music.

Phil Thomas, publishing director for Project J, said the agency’s key

tasks will be to ensure that details of the title are released in the

right way and to maximise the coverage once the magazine’s details are

fully announced.

Project J will be edited by Mark Frith, former editor of Sky

Magazine.

David Hepworth is editorial director and Dominic Smith has been named as

managing editor.

The win follows MacLaurin Group’s work on the January launch of Emap

Elan’s ’middle youth’ women’s magazine Red, agency managing director

Brian MacLaurin said.

- BT LineOne, the internet access provider, has appointed The MacLaurin

Group to spearhead a drive to attract new users to the internet.
