CHICAGO: Holding company Daniel J Edelman Inc has formed a second

agency, PR 21, which will handle business that could conflict with

existing clients of its sister agency Edelman PR Worldwide.

The new firm will be jointly headquartered in Chicago and New York, with

additional offices planned in London and Hong Kong.

Will Sullivan has been named president and chief executive of PR 21.

Sullivan was previously chief marketing officer for Imation, the data

storing and imaging company launched by technology and manufacturing

company 3M in 1996. He is also former director of international

healthcare operations for Rowland, which bought his agency in 1991.

’Our goal is to have in place two separate top-tier global networks that

can accommodate the economic trends towards continued acquisitions,

merging technologies and convergent growth,’ said Daniel Edelman,

founder of Edelman PR Worldwide. He is also chairman of the board of

Daniel J Edelman Inc, the holding company for PR 21 and Edelman PR

Worldwide.

PR 21 will focus on marketing communications services for the technology

and new media, consumer products and healthcare fields. It launches with

15 staff, mostly drawn from Edelman’s operations.

The technology practice will be headed by Paul Battaglia in Chicago; new

media will be lead by Renee Edelman in New York. Roberta Marks will

direct the healthcare practice in New York and Terry Hurley will

supervise the consumer practice in Chicago.

PR 21 has already signed up 19 clients - including Boehringer Ingelheim

and Time Warner’s new media division - with an estimated fee income of

pounds 1.8 million.
