Corporate and financial agency Grandfield is moving into financial
services PR and has recruited two former in-house consultants to jointly
head the new department.
Fiona Monro joins Grandfield as joint managing director of financial
services. She has been acting editor of What Investment since leaving
her post as head of publicity at the Association of Investment Trust
Companies six months ago. Prior to this she was communications director
of the Financial Intermediaries Managers and Brokers Association between
1987 and 1991.
The other joint managing director is Dudley Howard who joins Grandfield
Financial Services following a period in freelance consultancy. He was
previously based in Hong Kong as head of global corporate communications
at unit trust group Jardine Fleming.
Grandfield Financial Services will provide PR across the sector for new
and existing Grandfield clients but will focus on winning investment and
unit trust clients in the UK and emerging markets around the world.
Howard said: ’Fiona went into FIMBRA during a very interesting period of
activity and understands journalism and media. What she’s missing is the
experience of investment marketing which I can add.’
Howard launched and marketed around 80 investment funds worldwide at
Jardine Fleming. He developed strong contacts in 16 Asian markets and
hopes to build business for Grandfield in this region.
Granfield managing director Charles Cook said: ’The financial services
sector is changing shape rapidly. This has lead to an increased interest
in integrated corporate marketing.’
