Anglian Water has promoted Monica Greenwood to head of public

relations, from her previous role as marketing manager.

Greenwood will be responsible for managing media and all public

relations activities for the utility, with the support of a centrally

based team and four regional public relations managers.

She reports to director of corporate relations Mike Keohane, who

oversees marketing, investor relations, parliamentary affairs, corporate

affairs, recreation and internal communications.

Keohane joined the water company two years ago to head up a 26-strong

marketing team. Citigate Westminster handles Anglian Water’s public

affairs account.

Anglian Water is geographically the largest of the 10 regional water

services companies in England and Wales. It supplies water to four

million people and sewerage services to 5.3 million people.

Last year the water company suffered its worst year for water pollution

prosecutions since it was privatised nine years ago.

The Environment Agency fined Anglian Water more than pounds 46,000 for

eight separate pollution incidents.

However, regulatory body Ofwat revealed last November that Anglian Water

has the lowest level of disconnections for non-payment of bills.
