Edelman Public Relations Worldwide has appointed Rolf Gulliksen as
head of its European healthcare practice.
Gulliksen joins from Edelman’s Swedish affiliate Andreasson PR, which he
joined two years ago to set up the healthcare division. He will arrive
at Edelman’s London office on 15 September.
The head of European healthcare post has been empty since Robin Wright,
who was also head of the UK practice, left suddenly in March. Mark Cater
was made group director of the UK healthcare practice.
Acting as a link between Edelman’s existing healthcare practices across
Europe, Gulliksen’s key task will be to develop new business. Current
clients include Lilly, Bayer and Boehringer Mannheim.
’I will be liaising with Edelman’s eight European offices and 17
affiliates to develop our core healthcare capabilities,’ Gulliksen said.
He added that Edelman aimed to become the leading healthcare agency in

million of revenues in 1996 and accounting for more than 20 per cent of
the firm’s total income.
Prior to joining Andreasson, which has a four-strong healthcare team,
Gulliksen ran Merck Sharp and Dohme’s external affairs department in
