Teachers Assurance Group has hired GCI London as its first retained

PR consultancy.

Positioned as an insurance company by teachers for teachers, the company

has so far focused on providing insurance products for the education

sector.

GCI’s brief is to continue to raise the company’s profile in its core

sector but it will also explore the potential of the brand in the wider

insurance market.

Sue Ryan, a director of GCI and head of the professional and financial

services unit, said: ’ Our job is to consolidate Teachers’ presence in

the education sector and to help it move potentially into other

complementary sectors.’

The account - which is believed to carry a six-figure fee - has an

integrated brief. As well as PR planning and strategy development, GCI

will be involved in media relations, sponsorship, direct marketing and

promotional work.
