DIY chain Do It All is on the search for a new corporate communications
head.
The job, leading a team of four at the Boots-owned company’s West
Midland’s headquarters, has been held by Lisa Abbotts for the past three
years.
Abbotts, aged 31, will leave at the end of this week to join the
automotive component firm Finelist as its first communications
executive.
Finelist chairman and chief executive Chris Swan poached Abbotts with
the aim of establishing a PR division and improving communications with
the company’s 3,000 employees.
The company acquired the car products retailer Motor World last month
for a little over pounds 48 million, increasing its nationwide outlets
to 540.
The job of corporate communications manager at Do It All reports to
personnel and customer care director Geoff Kid and covers media
relations, public affairs and internal communications.
Abbott said her departure is unconnected to Boot’s pounds 1 million
acquisition of WH Smith Group’s 50 per cent interest in Do It All, which
took place in June.
Boots is in the middle of executing a plan to sell off 65 Do It All
stores. The company is also refitting the remaining shops in a bid to
reverse the company’s pounds 20.2 million losses, announced at the end
of last year.
