Beattie Media is to expand in the UK and overseas, by opening a
fifth UK office later this month in Leeds, and offices in Dublin and
Melbourne in the next six months.
The Leeds office will be headed by account director Kelly Kilner, who
joins Beattie from rival agency Northern Profile, having been in charge
of its Leeds operation for three years.
Douglas McGuire, currently an account director at Beattie’s Glasgow
office, will run the Melbourne office, which is due to open in October.
The agency is still in the process of seeking a head for its new Dublin
office. All three offices are expected to recruit further staff members
shortly after opening.
Gordon Beattie, managing director at Beattie Media, said: ’Our formula
of providing clients with a journalist-led media relations service will
be a recipe for success internationally.’ Explaining the agency’s
decision to target Australia rather than the US, he added: ’In America
we would have been a very small fish in an extremely large pond.
Australia, on the other hand, is a more attractive option as our goal
will be to dominate the marketplace.’
Beattie Media has offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and London. Its
client base is mainly Scottish and includes outdoor furniture company,
Adshel Scotland, Edinburgh Tourist Authority, news-agents Menzies Stores
and the Royal Bank of Scotland. The agency also works for Northern
Ireland-based Nambarrie Tea Company in Scotland and has several clients
with interests in Leeds, Ireland and the Pacific Rim which it declined
