Lunn Poly, the travel agency arm of Thomson Travel Group, has
appointed AS Biss and Co as its first retained public affairs
AS Biss will lobby the Government on issues including air passenger duty
- set at pounds 10 per European flight journey and pounds 20 for each
flight leg outside Europe, which Lunn Poly is keen to see lowered. Lunn
Poly is also pushing to preserve the high street against encroachment
from out-of-town shopping malls.
Sally Carroll, Lunn Poly’s head of communications, said: ’Lunn Poly is
committed to playing a greater role in the public affairs arena. We have
a valuable contribution to make on policy issues such as consumer
protection, tourism and the environment, training, integrated transport
and the future of the high street.’
AS Biss worked for Lunn Poly last year on the Fair Travel Tax Campaign
which succeeded in equalising insurance tax for travel agents with
insurance tax paid by direct insurers in this year’s Budget.
