Pharmaceutical giant Roche Products has consolidated PR for its entire
portfolio of prescription brands into healthcare specialist KWT Network
- in a move estimated to be worth more than pounds 100,000 in fees to
The UK subsidiary of Swiss company Hoffman La Roche ended contracts with
individual agencies to hand the business to KWT Network last week.
The PR firm’s six staff will handle product PR across a range of areas
including cardiology, respiratory and anti-virals, which houses the
company’s Aids products. KWT has worked for Roche for two years on the
anti-malaria product Lariam and the launch of Aids drug Hivid.
Roche Products communications manager Janine Baker said contracts with
the division’s other PR agencies had been ‘gradually eroded’ to make way
for a single agency.
She said the aim of the consolidation was to ‘build a family’ with an
atmosphere of ‘trust and familiarity’ between KWT Network, her division
of two and Roche’s 15-strong team of product managers.
