Newly merged car manufacturer Daimler Chrysler has completed a
restructure of its communications department and has chosen Daimler-Benz
PR head Christoph Walther to run its 300-strong PR division. Walther’s
opposite number at Chrysler, Steve Harris, has moved to head of PR at
General Motors, as vice-president of communications. Walther will split
his time between Daimler’s Stuttgart HQ and Detroit. The restructure
will see the two corporate communications departments merged, with a
Daimler man, Roland Klein, in charge. Klein reports to Walther.
Chrysler’s corporate communications head Mike Morrison resigned last
year.
