Beverages company Premier Brands has appointed Charles Barker BSMG
to handle consumer PR for Typhoo Tea.
Charles Barker’s sister advertising agency, Delaney Fletcher Bozell,
also works for Typhoo and the two firms will work on an integrated
campaign for the brand.
Typhoo is the third largest UK teabag brand after Tetley and PG Tips,
commanding an 8.1 per cent 1998 market share.
Lyons Waddell, which previously held the Typhoo account, will continue
to handle trade and consumer PR for Premier’s other brands, which
include London Herb and Spice, Ridgways, and Cadbury’s hot chocolate
drinks, which it owns.
’To maintain our growth of market share by around one per cent per
annum, we are taking a fresh look at our PR strategy,’ said Typhoo
marketing manager Colin Edgar.
