Disney Interactive, which produces PC and video games, has hired
Talk Loud PR to handle consumer and trade PR for its portfolio of
products and to launch several new titles.
The agency was appointed last week following a three-way pitch, and
replaces long-standing incumbent Paragon Golin/Harris. Paragon did not
repitch for the new account, which is believed to carry fees of around
pounds 100,000.
Paragon has handled PR for Disney Interactive since its European launch
in 1995.
Talk Loud will target specialist PC titles, specialist games titles,
consumer media, including the style press, and broadcast media.
Disney Interactive is a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company and
releases around 20 games, aimed at young children and families, in the
UK each year. It has a number of rivals in the PC gaming market
including Ubisoft and Gremlin Interactive.
The agency is handling the launch of four games for PCs, including
Disney’s Classic Video Games 2 and Disney’s Hot Shots - Hippo Hop.
It will also handle at least two games launches next year. A Bug’s Life
will be released to coincide with the UK cinema release of the film on 5
February, and The Lion King: Simba’s Pride, will be launched in tandem
with a video of the same name on 19 February.
Talk Loud’s other clients include French video game developer Infogrames
and PolyGram Filmed Entertainment.
