Edelman PR Worldwide has poached Miles Fisher-Pollard from
Burson-Marsteller to head its UK healthcare arm.
Based in London, Fisher-Pollard will lead a team of 15, reporting to
Edelman London managing director Tari Hibbitt and global healthcare head
Nick May.
In the past year Edelman has snared two senior staff from B-M. Nick May
joined Edelman’s healthcare practice in April and Jonathan Howard left
B-M in August to join Edelman as managing director of its European
technology practice.
Fisher-Pollard was director of B-M’s North Asia healthcare practice.
He replaces deputy European sector head Mark Carter, who is emigrating
to Canada with his family.
Carter joined Edelman in 1996, rising to deputy European healthcare
sector head earlier this year. He will join Canadian general agency
National Public Relations in a senior role.
Fisher-Pollard has worked in medical communications and healthcare PR
for ten years in Australia, the UK and Hong Kong.
Deputy managing director of Edelman London Patrick Roberts said:
’Increasingly, we are appointing senior staff in all practice areas
whose experience matches the global needs of our clients and the
international character of their stakeholder audience.’
Fisher-Pollard will be responsible for Edelman healthcare clients
including Eli Lilly, Procter and Gamble and Roche Diagnostics.
