Dome architects seek PR chief for in-house unit

Richard Rogers Partnership, the architectural firm commissioned to design the Millennium Dome, announced this week it is seeking a communications manager to head its four member in-house team.

Richard Rogers Partnership, the architectural firm commissioned to

design the Millennium Dome, announced this week it is seeking a

communications manager to head its four member in-house team.



The firm, chaired by Lord Rogers, also designed the Bordeaux law court

in France and the Pompidou Centre in Paris.



Fiona Charlesworth, the former PR manager, left six months ago to join

the New Millennium Experience Company, which is responsible for the

contents of the Dome, as media relations manager. Her role has been

upgraded to cover all internal and external communications, press and

corporate PR, as well as the management and digitalisation of the

company’s central resources library.



Simon Smithson, one of the firm’s 14 directors said ’Previously, some of

the different departments and architects dealt with their own

communications function, everything was done on an ad hoc basis, so we

have decided to create this more senior position to centralise our

communications function.’
