Claire Weaver, former head of government and public affairs at TSB, is
joining Westminster Strategy as a director.
Weaver, 47, joins the firm on 4 November. She left TSB in September
following its merger with Lloyds, after nine years with the company.
Weaver said she had been offered the job of head of public affairs for
the group but turned it down. ‘I thought it was time to go after nine
years, and to do public affairs in a different context’,’ she said.
Prior to working at TSB, which she joined in 1987 as a business
legislation officer, Weaver spent 16 years working for the government,
latterly at the Ministry of Defence.
Managing director of Westminster Strategy Michael Burrell said Weaver
had a particularly strong reputation for her work in Brussels and would
play a leading role in developing WS’ sister-company in Brussels,
European Strategy.
