Bull Information Systems, the IT and systems integration giant, is set
to announce which agency it has chosen to handle its pounds 300,000 UK
public relations account and replace Text 100 as its retained PR agency.
The account, which Text 100 managed for three years, was put up for
review in June following senior management changes at Bull. In July 1995
managing director Phil Crawford left the company, prompting a management
reshuffle which saw the arrival of Eric Hall as marketing services
director in October and Amanda Purdie as public relations manager the
following March.
Hall explained that Text 100 was invited to repitch for the business but
turned down the offer. Text 100, which continues to work for Bull in
Ireland, declined to say why it had decided not to repitch for the UK
account.
Two agencies have made it to a final shortlist and an appointment is
expected early next month.
It remains unclear if Text 100’s old account, which embraced corporate
positioning, issues management and sponsorship work as well as trade and
technical PR, will be handed to a single agency or split between the two
shortlisted candidates.
