Diary: Testing times for a thrusting executive in the office loos

A Plus proved its hi-tech credentials last week when Anuj Nayer

starred in BBC’s prime time techie show Hot Gadgets.

Account executive Anuj was one of three punters recruited by the Beeb to

test a trio of wacky inventions - a stress relief headset, an interactive

TV system and a solar-powered cooker. To test the headset Anuj was

required to spend 20 minutes in a tranquil spot. So, what better place,

than A-Plus’s loos?

It seems that Anuj was handed over to the BBC, after the corporation rang

A Plus in search of a ’thrusting young executive’ who loved gadgets.

Curious as to why Jonathan Simnett, A Plus’s far-from-media-shy director

had not grabbed the TV exposure, I gave him a call.

’Having just turned 39, I’m more of a thrusting increasingly-middle-aged

executive,’ he admits. ’As for hot gadgets, when I first arrived at A

Plus, the top thing in hi-tech was an electric typewriter.’
