The new Irish government has announced the appointment of Joe Lennon as government press secretary. His key role will be to act as a contact between the press and the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern. Lennon previously worked at the department of finance as press officer to Ruairi Quinn.

The new Irish government has announced the appointment of Joe Lennon

as government press secretary. His key role will be to act as a contact

between the press and the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern. Lennon previously

worked at the department of finance as press officer to Ruairi Quinn.



He joined the government information service in 1981 as a press officer

and has worked in the departments of industry and commerce, and enterprise

and employment.
