Public affairs firm GPC Market Access has struck an association deal

with leading Indian political agency Deepak Talwar and Associates (DTA).

The link represents Omnicom-owned Market Access’s first foray into Asia,

from its Canada base.

This is also the first time that any dedicated public affairs

consultancies from the UK or North America have gone into India.

The deal, said director Peter Robinson, was motivated by the scale of the

Indian market and the growth of inward investment into the country.

Although the association was not specifically prompted by common clients,

DTA has worked with British Airways and Merck Sharp and Dohme - both

clients of Market Access. DTA’s founder Deepak Talwar explained that he

was keen for the consultancy to expand into Europe and North America.

The Indian firm has offices in New Delhi, Mumbai (formerly Bombay) and

London. Clients include Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Gillette.
