He joins in the newly-created role of editorial and scientific strategy director. He previously held the position of editorial director at rival healthcare shop Axon Communications for two years.
The new role was created following significant growth for the practice.
Venkatesan reports into BioScience MD David Noble and will be responsible for scientific strategy and clients' publications strategies.
Noble said: ‘Reghu's appointment follows an important period of growth for the BioScience Communications London office, which has trebled in size in three years to a team of 14 medical education experts. This is a senior position and will help further our ability to offer more of the serious scientific counsel that has fuelled our recent growth.'
The appointment coincides with other team changes at BioScience. John Cooke, global client relationship manager and a nine-year veteran of the firm, recently relocated to London from the Toronto office to manage one of BioScience's major Europe-based accounts. Jelena Lee, who has been with the agency since June 2008, has been promoted to associate director, client services.
