Beatwax owner and managing director Chris Ward has the job offer of
a lifetime for one lucky individual. The agency is looking for someone
to manage a cunning stunt for Emap Metro.
The agency plans to send a customised ice cream van to Ibiza to promote
a supplement for dance music magazine Mixmag aimed at the thousands of
clubbers expected to visit the dance music mecca this summer.
The weekly spin-off, Mixmag Out There, will report on club news over a
12-week period starting later this month.
The van will play reworked dance music laced with the hypnotic sound of
traditional ice cream van jingles. Not only will the lucky candidate get
to drive the van to Ibiza, he or she will then spend a full summer in
the Mediterranean heat.
Fame could also be around the corner for the driver, as Ward is
currently courting film production companies about making a
fly-on-the-wall documentary of the trip.
’Obviously, the post-holder would be expected to live club culture to
the full,’ he says.
