Allied Distillers has appointed a new corporate affairs manager, Silvia
Corrieri, 35, to its Scottish office.
Corrieri, who has been with the company for nine years, was previously
PR manager for Laphroaig and Ballantine’s aged whisky brands.
Her appointment comes in the wake of the company’s recent shake-up which
saw all activity centralised to Allied Domecq’s HQ in Bristol. This also
saw the reduction of the Scottish PR from six, to just Corrieri.
Former Allied PR brand manager, Barbara Anne Nimmo, who left in
September to join Barkers Scotland as an account director explained:
‘The public relations team was disbanded and moved to Bristol last July.
Some were forced to take redundancy and others like myself moved on.
‘I decided that to stay would be too limiting. All the brand PR activity
was being handled in Bristol, leaving Scotland with just the corporate
PR function. I wanted to work on national campaigns and get involved in
brand PR, too.’
Corrieri said the move was unlikely to lead to more upheavals in the
firm’s PR.
