Five months after Kate Bowes left the beleaguered Stock Exchange to join
Barclays Bank, the London market has found a replacement.
Claire Maskell, 47, is to take up her new position as head of corporate
affairs next month. She joins from Anglian Water where she has been
employed as director of corporate relations for the last 15 months.
Anglian is shortlisting candidates to replace her.
‘I planned to stay at Anglian for much longer, and would only have moved
to a job such as this one at the Stock Exchange,’ she said
She declined to comment on her new salary saying: ‘It’s not a board
position, so it doesn’t have to be revealed.’
At the Stock Exchange she will be responsible for a team of about 30 and
have five departments reporting into her. These are: marketing and
communications; publications; internal communications and community
programmes; the press office, and public affairs. This is almost double
the size of her team at Anglian, which now numbers 17.
