Spire Healthcare appoints Merchant to handle PR support

Spire Healthcare, the private hospital group, has called in Merchant Healthcare Marketing for its public and patient-facing PR activity.

Merchant is tasked with raising awareness of the 36 hospitals within the Spire Healthcare group, increasing the number of appointments, referrals and procedures, both on a national and local basis.

Merchant's programme will focus on ensuring Spire patients and consultants are placed at the forefront and speak about their experience and outcomes following treatment at a Spire hospital.

Spire Healthcare was established by Cinven in 2007 when it acquired 25 hospitals formerly owned by BUPA.  Since then the group has expanded the portfolio to 36 hospitals. 

Merchant's remit includes development and delivery of the national and regional consumer strategy as well as trade and corporate activity, supporting the central marketing team and the hospitals locally.
