The British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS), the body responsible

for providing the most abortions outside the NHS, is looking for a

communications director.

The post has been renamed following the departure of the marketing

director, to recognise the organisation’s emphasis on its collaboration

with other bodies, such as the NHS, explained chief executive Ian

Jones.

The communications director will oversee a five-strong team and report

to Jones.

The BPAS is a charity which provides treatment and advice for unplanned

pregnancies for over 50,000 women each year. It was established in 1968

following the Abortion Act and has nine clinics and 30 advice centres

across the UK.
