STOCKHOLM: Text 100 opens in Sweden

Hi-tech agency Text 100 is to open its first office in Sweden. The new

branch will be fully operational from 1 June and will handle work for

two new clients which, according to Text’s group marketing director Andy

West, will net the agency fee income of pounds 125,000. West declined to

name the general manager for the new office, who has not yet resigned

from her current post. The agency already has offices in Dublin, Paris,

Munich and Amsterdam and is looking to set up shop in Spain and Italy.

BRUSSELS: Ine Marien adds fizz to Spa

Spadel, the mineral water bottler, has called on Ine Marien and Partners

to add sparkle to its marketing efforts. The agency has been hired on a

12 month programme to promote the health benefits of its Spa brand to

consumers and the medical profession. Although a market leader, Spa

faces increasing competition from cheaper supermarket brands. Spadel

continues to retain Creative Strategy for corporate and financial PR


LONDON: New Euro alliances for Grayling

The Grayling Group has formed new partnerships with agencies in Germany

and Italy. Frankfurt-based Ferck Euro-PR replaces PR Bonn, which opted

to leave the network last year. EGG in Milan succeeds APR Immagine e

Communicazione, which was bought by Shandwick. Grayling chief executive

Michael Burrell said the group is still seeking a partner in


MILAN: Seer seeks Business Press wisdom

Seer Technologies, the US software company, has appointed hi tech

consultancy Business Press to raise its profile in the Italian business

market. The company, which provides information systems for banks and

other large corporations, is keen to target smaller firms through the

technical and trade press.

LONDON: Hewlett leaves jewels for jeans

Susan Hewlett, international PR manager for costume jewellery firm

Cabouchon, has quit after just four months in the job. Hewlett, who left

the company this week, joins consumer agency Shilland and Co as an

account manager on its Levi Strauss Europe account. At Cabouchon she was

responsible for devising promotional strategy across the 14 countries

where Cabouchon has a presence. PR co-ordinator Samia Choudri said that

Hewlett wanted to return to consultancy work. She will not be

immediately replaced.

WARSAW: Shilland strikes oil and nappies

Shilland and Co has picked up business from two high profile clients,

Shell and Pampers. The agency, which has a staff of six, will promote

Shell’s service stations to consumers and support the launch of Pampers’

extra dry nappies in the summer. The account wins are a big boost for

Shilland’s Polish branch, which opened last October. ‘The business is

really starting to come in. Poland is going to be a very serious

opportunity for everyone,’ said chief executive Peter Shilland.
