The GCI group has opened a branch in Brussels - its second start-up

in less than four months.

Located at the offices of its sister agency APCO Europe, GCI Europe is

headed by Nick Andrews, formerly of The Rowland Company in Brussels and

associate director at Smythe Dorward Lambert before that.

Jerome Lascombe, chairman of GCI Europe, explained that the new office

would complement APCO’s work in the public affairs arena. ’The market in

Brussels is very important for public affairs but we need a PRpresence

for the multi-national companies based there.’

He added that new assignments for the European Commission also helped

prompt the move. Last year GCI won work from Directorate Generals XII,

XIII and XXII, the commission’s science, research and education

wings.

In September the group’s French agency Moreau Lascombe GCI set up its

own lobby firm, APCO France.
