Noel Privett, Midland Bank’s head of media relations and its joint

head of public affairs, is leaving the bank to join PR agency Band and

Brown.

Privett, 37, joins Band and Brown in February, as an associate board

director, in charge of its financial services division.

At Midland, Privett will be succeeded by deputy head of media relations

Richard Beck, while Belinda Furneaux-Harris will continue as the bank’s

other joint head of public affairs.

Prior to joining Midland in 1994, Privett spent four years as PR manager

for AA Insurance, before which he worked for six years in PR

consultancy, including spells with Charles Barker Lyons and Christopher

Morgan and Partners.

Gill Brown, Band and Brown managing director, said Privett’s signing

marked an agency drive to beef up its financial division.

She said Privett ’came highly recommended’ and that the agency had been

impressed by both his financial expertise and the breadth of his career.
