TI Group, the specialist engineering and manufacturing company, is
scouring the PR market for a communications manager to handle its
relations with the media.
The company has hired headhunters to help find a replacement for Roger
Turner, its present communications manager. Turner is currently on
sabbatical, studying for an MBA in France, and is due to take up another
position within TI Group after his return later this year.
The new recruit will report to main board director James Rowe and act as
press spokesman for the company. He or she will not take charge of
investor relations, which is handled separately by IR manager Richard
Based in Oxfordshire with locations around the world, TI Group holds
three businesses: John Crane, which manufacturers mechanical seals;
Bundy, which produces fluid systems for the automotive and refrigeration
industries; and Dowty Aerospace.
A FTSE 100 company, TI Group reaped pre-tax profits of pounds 184.8
million in 1995 on turnover of pounds 1.7 billion.
