scouring the PR market for a communications manager to handle its

relations with the media.

The company has hired headhunters to help find a replacement for Roger

Turner, its present communications manager. Turner is currently on

sabbatical, studying for an MBA in France, and is due to take up another

position within TI Group after his return later this year.

The new recruit will report to main board director James Rowe and act as

press spokesman for the company. He or she will not take charge of

investor relations, which is handled separately by IR manager Richard

Amos.

Based in Oxfordshire with locations around the world, TI Group holds

three businesses: John Crane, which manufacturers mechanical seals;

Bundy, which produces fluid systems for the automotive and refrigeration

industries; and Dowty Aerospace.

A FTSE 100 company, TI Group reaped pre-tax profits of pounds 184.8

million in 1995 on turnover of pounds 1.7 billion.
