Battersea-based Communications Plus is to spearhead a pounds 50,000 PR
drive to update the image of Bulgarian wine.
The agency was hired two weeks ago by new promotional body, the
Bulgarian Wine Guild after a three-way pitch. The Guild, which is backed
by importers the Bulgarian Vintners Company and Domaine Boyar, will
launch in September in a bid to promote Bulgarian wine and tackle its
Communications Plus is planning a programme of tastings and facility
visits to Bulgaria in the autumn. It also intends to publish a
newsletter informing wine consumers of the merits of drinking Bulgarian
Bulgarian wine currently holds six per cent of the market in the UK,
valued at pounds 117m per year.
