Westminster Strategy has replaced Ian Greer Associates as public affairs
adviser to Birmingham International Airport.
The win, which ends IGA’s decade-long relationship with BIA, Britain’s
fifth largest airport, follows a July agency review (PR Week, 12 July).
Brian Conway, BIA media relations and public affairs manager declined to
explain why Westminster Strategy had unseated IGA but said the airport
was looking to raise its political profile.
He said: ‘We had no complaints about the service provided by IGA but
felt it was time for a change.’
Conway added that Westminster Strategy would be working closely with
BIA’s in-house team, which was reorganised earlier this year.
Westminster Strategy director Mike Lee said the agency’s role would be
‘a mix of political contact work, help with the airport’s media
relations and making its presence felt at major political events.’
IGA declined to comment on the loss of BIA’s business.
