The multimillion-pound national ad campaign has been launched by PepsiCo under the banner Play4Life. It forms part of the Government's wider anti-obesity campaign called Change4Life.
The launch of the advert coincides with the news that the Department of Health is sponsoring Channel 4 show The Simpsons to promote its healthy eating message.
The PepsiCo advert featuring England and Chelsea footballer Frank Lampard uses the strapline: ‘Even the best finishers need someone to start them off.' The ad featuring Barcelona player Thierry Henry uses the line: ‘My influences? Marco van Basten, Maradona. My father.'
The campaign is being promoted by retained agency Freud. It runs nationally until December on posters, press, buses and online.
The campaign has been produced by PepsiCo in partnership with advertising agency AMV BBDO and media agency OMD.
PepsiCo, AMV BBDO and OMD are all members of Business4Life. Founded by the Advertising Association, Business4Life is a coalition of companies representing the food and drink, retail, media, advertising, fitness and health industries, which are partnering the Government to support its Change4Life movement.
