The agency has hired Melanie Worthy as a director and head of regulatory affairs. For the past two years Worthy has run her own consultancy practice, Worthy Communications. This business is to be merged into Cubitt's existing capabilities in financial and business services. Her appointment is effective from 1 October.
Worthy previously worked as a senior consultant at strategic comms agency Politics International and was a policy adviser for the FSA and the Association of British Insurers.
She has two decades of experience in the regulatory and corporate affairs arena, having also worked in-house at the Bank of England, the Investment Management Association and Legal & General.
Simon Brocklebank-Fowler, managing partner of Cubitt, commented: 'Melanie brings senior-level regulatory experience and board-level expertise, which will add value to our clients in the financial and business services arena, and those for whom regulators are an important audience.'
