FRANKFURT: Seidenwerg’s healthy move
Burson-Marsteller chief executive Gabriele Eick has appointed Harel
Seidenwerg as healthcare director. Formerly European marketing and
training director of Johnson and Johnson, Seidenwerg will co-ordinate
consumer and issues work for healthcare clients of B-M’s offices in
Frankfurt and Hamburg. He joins finance director Gunter Knauth who
arrived in January.
MUNICH: Leipziger wins Compxx contract
Specialist consultancy Leipziger and Partner High-tech has been hired by
Singapore-based computer network firm Compxx as its first public
relations adviser in Germany. The agency has been briefed to develop a
PR, direct marketing and advertising programme targeting business users.
Fees are DM200,000 (pounds 89,000) a year.
MILAN: Price Waterhouse picks Barabino
Barabino and Partners, headed by chairman Luca Barabino, has won a L170
million (pounds 70,000) contract from chartered accountant Price
Waterhouse to promote its auditing and management consultancy divisions
in Italy. The agency will handle media relations for both wings,
organise events and produce a client newsletter for the management
consultancy, and develop internal communications for the auditing

MADRID: Cacicedo nailed for Eurocofin
Former journalist Juan Cacicedo has been appointed director general of
financial PR agency Eurocofin. Cacicedo was deputy editor of popular
financial weekly Dinero between 1992 and 1994 and was subsequently a
columnist for El Siglo.
BARCELONA: Merger on hold for Ulled
Spain’s fifth-largest PR agency Ulled and Asociados has put on hold
plans to merge with Madrid-based Comunicacion Empresarial and is
negotiating another deal with an international consultancy. The merger -
due to have been completed by 1997 - would have created Spain’s fourth-
largest PR consultancy. Henrietta Fielden, international liaison officer
for Ulled and Asociados, said the deal may still go ahead but was
suspended after an international firm expressed interest in taking a
minority stake in the agency.
PARIS: Grayling can cut the mustard
Grayling has landed contracts from two food and wine associations. The
agency will promote mustard for The Federation des Industries
Condimentaires de France and the Costieres de Nimes range of wines for
the Comite Interprofessionel des Cotes du Rhone/Vallee du Rhone. Associate director Daniel Verpeaux said the accounts were a boost for
AMSTERDAM: Threadneedle goes Dutch
London-based fund manager Threadneedle Asset Management has hired
Hollander GCI to handle the March launch of its Threadneedle Global
Assets fund in the Netherlands. The company has briefed GCI to target
financial media, brokers and analysts.
