Since January 2008, Worthy has run her own consultancy practice, Worthy Communications, which is being merged into Cubitt's existing capabilities in financial and business services.
Worthy has two decades of experience in the regulatory and corporate affairs arena, having worked in-house in the regulatory and advisory arena within the Bank of England, the Investment Management Association, Financial Services Authority, Legal & General, and the Association of British Insurers.
Simon Brocklebank-Fowler, managing partner of Cubitt, said: ‘Melanie brings a compelling mixture of senior-level regulatory experience with board level expertise, which will add tremendous value to our clients in the financial and business services arena, and those for whom regulators and government is an important audience.'
Brocklebank-Fowler added that Worthy would be working in a team including Charles Anson CVO, a former long-term adviser to monarchs and governments in the UK and overseas.
Her appointment is effective from 1 October.
