Bell Yard, the litigation PR specialist, has hired Louise Beeson, formerly head of corporate communications at investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort. Beeson, who starts immediately, will work alongside agency founder Melanie Riley. Prior to Dresdner Kleinwort, she held roles at international law firm White & Case and before that Arthur Andersen. She began her PR career at international PR agency Burson-Marsteller.

CitySavvy has been appointed by Amsterdam-based European Multilateral Clearing Facility (EMCF) to provide pan-European PR support. EMCF is an equity central counter-party clearing house (CCP) that clears around 1.8 million executions per day across 12 European territories. The agency will focus on building its voice in the international financial media.

GE Capital has appointed Michael Goodbody as media relations director. Goodbody was previously vice-president, media relations at Dresdner Kleinwort and has also worked at MS&L.

Nighthawk Energy has brought in FD for an investor and analyst relations brief in the US and UK markets. Nighthawk, a US-based hydrocarbon development and production company, retains Bishopsgate Communications for its general financial comms.

Alkane Energy has handed its retained financial PR account to Hudson Sandler. The account was previously held by Buchanan Communications. Alkane specialises in capturing coal mine methane and turning it into a green energy source. Nick Lyon, the agency's director, will lead the account.
