20 September What with everything converging - social media, PR and advertising - I have been running a couple of online word-of-mouth campaigns recently. I know it's not social media or PR in its purest sense, but I've found there is a lot of common ground. So, I thought I'd share some of the things I've learnt. Firstly, always do full disclosure, be honest and transparent. Secondly, recruit ambassadors that are already fans of the brand/product.

20 September The MIT pair used Facebook (and a bit of science!) to analyse multiple profiles and can now, apparently, predict if the person is gay (or not) based solely on your friends. What your profile 'says' about you shouldn't be an issue but we know the world we live in isn't always the Disney movie we wish it were. It's rough out there so protect yourself, but please don't sacrifice being yourself.

18 September This one, rather than the usual linkbait, looks like it could be quite useful. 10 Yetis PR has set up a wiki for PR agencies to complete their client list, links to the account lead and contact details for each account. All that remains to be seen is if agencies will share that level of information publicly in one place.
