Bull Information Systems, the IT and systems integration provider, has
picked Profile PR and Axicom to handle its pounds 300,000 UK public
relations account.
Subject to board approval next week, the appointments end a five-month
review of the company’s PR, which was previously handled for three years
by Text 100 (PR Week, 11 October).
The review was prompted by senior management changes at Bull last year,
which saw the arrival of Eric Hall as marketing services director in
October 1995 and Amanda Purdie as public relations manager in March this
year.
Text 100, which declined to repitch for the account, ended its contract
at the end of October. It continues to work for Bull in Ireland.
Profile has been briefed to manage corporate work and business-to-
business PR for the systems integration side of the business, while
Axicom will handle the trade and technical press. Both agencies will
report to Amanda Purdie on a day-to-day basis, and ultimately to Eric
Hall.
Part of the French computer company Groupe Bull, Bull Information
Systems generated turnover of pounds 332 million last year, a 27 per
cent increase on 1994. Recently it has secured major contracts from
Westminster City Council, Dyfed-Powys Police and BAA Heathrow.
