WPP-owned Ogilvy and Mather is expanding its PR activities in the
Far East by opening up its first operation in South Korea.
The move has been prompted by Ogilvy and Mather clients SmithKline
Beecham and Seagram. A team from O&M Hong Kong has already been working
on Korean PR campaigns for the drugs and drinks firms - a dedicated
office will allow them to service these clients more easily.
Ogilvy and Mather Public Relations will be based in the Seoul offices of
the group’s established advertising joint venture, Korad Ogilvy and
Mather. O&M has drafted Mary Devereux, one of the senior directors from
its Hong Kong agency, to head the Korean office.
The Ogilvy and Mather PR agency brand is represented in 14 countries
across Asia. Its sister agency Ogilvy Adams and Rinehart operates in the
US and Europe.
