BT has appointed Oxford-based consultancy, Le Fevre, to handle the

public relations for its retail corporate client sector.

Le Fevre picked up the pounds 50,000 account after a three-way pitch

against Cameron Choat and the Quentin Bell Organisation - a BT rostered

agency.

The business was previously handled by Band and Brown, but the Quentin

Bell Organisation has been acting as a caretaker agency for the last

four months.

’We wanted to bring someone in with experience in the retail industry

and we were also keen to work with a smaller agency,’ said Ayes

Amewudah, head of marketing for the retail sector.

The appointment comes as a result of the restructuring of BT into

business units 18 months ago.

The corporate client business unit is responsible for selling products

and services to the UK’s top 100 retailers. Customers include

Sainsbury’s, The Burton Group and Kingfisher.

’Le Fevre’s key task will be to position the business unit in the

marketplace,’ said Amewudah. ’We want clients to understand the breadth

of what we can offer.’
