Electronics giant Philips’s domestic appliances and personal care
division has retained Infoplan for its UK PR following an agency review.
Infoplan was re-selected by Philips DPA after presenting against several
agencies. The business, which industry insiders estimate to be worth
around pounds 250,000 annually, with fees of more than pounds 100,000,
covers UK PR activity for domestic products such as shavers, hairdryers
and coffee makers.
Infoplan has handled Philips DPA’s UK PR for 17 years, apart from 1985
to 1988 when it was run by Burson-Marsteller.
Barry Coldbreath, Philips Home Comfort marketing manager, said that the
agency review was an ‘audit’ rather than a re-pitch. ‘We are very happy
with Infoplan, who we feel do a very good job for us,’ he said. ‘But it
is has been useful to have something to judge them against.’
