The condom brand initially briefed at least three London agencies for a £200,000 European campaign to promote female orgasm gel Play O. However, the relevant firms were recently told the pitch would not be taking place.
McCann Erickson PR handles social media for Play O, while Myriad PR does offline PR. It is understood neither agency was made aware of the new brief.
Insiders told PRWeek the sudden U-turn was prompted by the brand's concerns over relations with its existing Play O UK incumbents.
'It's ridiculous,' said one source. 'Either you are happy with your incumbent or you are not. The damage has now already been done. The condom has split.'
