Shandwick’s technology arm, Miller Shandwick, has won a six-figure

fee account to handle trade and consumer PR for computer equipment firm

Teleadapt Group in the UK, US, Hong Kong and Australia.

Teleadapt supplies equipment which enables laptop users to link up with

computer networks and access their e-mail. It was named as one of the

100 fastest growing UK companies in the annual Sunday Times/Virgin

Atlantic fast track survey last month.

Miller Shandwick won the work after an informal pitch. The firm’s London

office will coordinate the work under managing director Kristin

Syltevik, who will report to Teleadapt’s managing director, Gordon

Brown.

Brown said: ’We particularly wish to address companies with large

travelling populations. Any mobile workforce is equipped with laptops

and those are the people we are looking for.’

He added that Miller Shandwick would also promote the firm within the

electronics industry, including manufacturers of PCs, modems and digital

TV set-top boxes.

Teleadapt used Harvard PR in the UK until last September. It did not

have agencies in Australia or Hong Kong and ended its relationship with

Brodeur in the US over a year ago.

The group has offices in all the countries the Miller Shandwick brief

covers.
