Regional airline KLM UK has selected Consolidated Communications as
its PR agency for England and Wales and reappointed incumbent
Edinburgh-based agency Carnegie PR to handle its Scottish PR.
This follows the airline’s rebranding last year, after minority
shareholder KLM Royal Dutch swallowed Air UK and renamed it KLM UK.
Consolidated and Carnegie competed for the six-figure fee account
against five other shortlisted agencies. These included incumbents the
Saltmarsh Partnership and Newcastle-based Bradley O’Mahoney PR, which
split the airline’s English and Welsh PR between them.
Shandwick and Ketchum also pitched for the work.
Consolidated and Carnegie have been briefed to handle consumer and
crisis PR and public affairs, raising awareness of the extent of KLM
UK’s regional presence. They will report to KLM UK’s corporate
communications manager, Jessica Peck, who heads an in-house team of

Peck said: ’We are looking for a fresh approach. We are quite young and
rebranded as KLM UK last year, and we intend to capitalise on that and
raise brand awareness among consumers.’
KLM UK operates from 21 airports in the UK, including London Heathrow,
