Britvic Soft Drinks has appointed media and art PR specialist The
Blak Agency to handle consumer PR for its Tango and Red Card drinks.
The agency, founded two years ago by former Lynne Franks account
director Beverley Luckings, was awarded the high profile brands earlier
this week.
Freud Communications, the incumbent agency on Tango, did not repitch for
the business. This is the first time that Britvic has invested in agency
support for its Red Card brand.
Blak’s PR campaign for the brand is likely to attempt to widen its
appeal beyond football fans to link it with all sports.
Luckings said that, despite Tango’s PR being closely linked to its
advertising in the past. ’there is potential for a stand-alone PR
campaign which still encapsulates all the irreverance and humour of the
brand’.
The Blak Agency also handles public relations for Dazed and Confused and
Sleaze Nation magazines, as well as projects for the Barbican, the Royal
College of Art and Absolut Vodka.
Luckings worked on the launch of soft drink Snapple while at Jackie
Cooper PR.
